Most industrial environments are not purely abrasive. Acid-base mist suspended in air, acid-base compositions contained in raw materials, and weakly acidic or alkaline process water continuously corrode equipment castings. Ordinary castings often reach the end of their service life prematurely due to rusting, perforation and surface peeling before reaching their designed abrasion lifespan.
Ordinary steel castings have weak corrosion resistance and rapidly develop oxidative rust, pitting corrosion and layered corrosion in mildly acidic/alkaline, humid, saline and corrosive environments. This leads to continuous wall thinning, declining structural strength, and ultimately cracking, damage and functional failure. In various mild and moderate industrial acid-base working conditions, including intermittent contact with weak acids and alkalis, adhesion of acid-base dust, humid corrosive air, salt fog environments and mild acid-base flushing in wet mineral processing, the castings can operate stably for extended periods with almost no rust, corrosion spots, surface peeling or perforation. They fully retain their original abrasion resistance and achieve dual protection against corrosion and abrasion, perfectly adapting to composite loss working environments. Their service life in corrosive environments is several times longer than that of ordinary castings, effectively eliminating frequent replacement caused by dual losses from corrosion and abrasion.
Meanwhile, it is critical to clarify the product' s applicable scope. As composite castings integrating abrasion and corrosion resistance, Wear Resistant Alloy Steel Castings are not professional ultra-anti-corrosion stainless steel materials and cannot adapt to extreme heavy corrosion environments. Long-term immersion in high-concentration strong acid and alkali solutions, or continuous flushing by high-intensity acids and alkalis, will quickly destroy the surface protective film and accelerate corrosion and abrasion of the matrix, so such usage is not recommended.
